On October 29th and November 5th, Resilient Virginia is partnering with Leslie King Consulting, Launch! Consulting, and Solar Workgroup of Southwest Virginia to host additional Virginia Energy Resilience Study (virtual) Informational Sessions. Virginia communities are invited to participate in the study which will help them assess their energy resilience and identify long-term solutions to address their weaknesses. What is the Virginia Energy Resilience Study (VERS)?
The Virginia Energy Resilience Study is working with historically marginalized and under-served communities across the state to measure their energy resilience and identify practical long-term solutions to reduce or eliminate vulnerabilities. Communities will get the opportunity to use a new tool developed by JMU Center for Advancement in Sustainable Energy (CASE) to gain insights into:
- What weaknesses exist in their local power source;
- How power outages impact their energy supply and affect essential services and household needs; and
- The financial cost of power outages to their community.
Communities will also be invited to apply for one of ten solar plus storage case study design projects where they will receive a customized engineering design for an energy resilience hub.
