2025 Resilient Virginia Conference

Join us for the 6th Biennial Resilient Virginia Conference at James Madison University, bringing together resilience practitioners, researchers, and policymakers from across Virginia. This statewide event is dedicated to peer-to-peer learning, networking, and collaboration around advancing resilience at the state, regional, and community levels.

5 Ways to Take Part in the Conference

1. Be an Active Voice

Resilient Virginia is seeking dynamic speakers, thought leaders, and practitioners for the conference. We are currently inviting proposals for presentations, panels, workshops, and case studies that address critical issues in resilience planning and implementation and advance holistic, inclusive, and long-lasting resilience strategies across the Commonwealth. Successful proposals will align with the conference’s mission to move Virginia forward through integrated, actionable, and forward-thinking strategies. Submission deadline is Tuesday, May 6, 2025.

2. Showcase Your Work

Resilient Virginia is now taking submissions for the Moving Virginia Forward Poster Session. The session will take place on Wednesday, July 23rd, at the 2025 Resilient Virginia Conference in King Hall at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA from 7-9pm. This year, we have 25 poster slots that will highlight contributions and research that is helping Virginia move forward. Learn more

3. Be a Part of the Conference Experience

Conference attendees will explore innovative, systems-based approaches to climate adaptation, equity, economic sustainability, and community resilience. The conference will feature engaging breakout sessions, interactive workshops, thought-provoking plenaries, and opportunities for meaningful 1:1 conversations. Whether you’re working in local government, academia, nonprofit sectors, or private industry, this conference offers valuable insights and connections to help build a more resilient and equitable future for Virginia.
