This site shows wind patterns in the Northwestern Hemisphere, with predictions going up to nine days in advance.

Weather events covered on this page include

  • Droughts
  • Wind Events

The Virginia Cooperative Extension also helps visitors learn which program or Extension Specialist may be able to best assist them, or they can find their local extension office to contact for their specific concerns.

The website includes state and federal emergency resources for preparation for disasters and emergency management. It also includes links to news, articles, and fact sheets for preparation relevant to farms and other agribusinesses, chemical storage, turfgrass, chain saws, and forest and tree damage from storms.

There is information on equine and other ruminant animal preparedness.

Also included are links for information on financial planning and financial recovery before and after storms.
