2021 Resilient Virginia Conference

Resilient Virginia is a non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating resiliency planning in communities across the Commonwealth. This year they are hosting their 4th Resilient Virginia Conference: From Recovery to Resilience – Moving to Vibrant, Healthy and Equitable Communities, August 25-27th.

The past year’s COVID experiences have highlighted the need for inclusive resiliency plans that integrate health, social, and economic concerns with ever-increasing climate change impacts. The conference will bring national and local perspectives on solutions being formulated to address vulnerabilities while moving forward to create a more economically sound and equitable future.

Anyone who is interested in building resiliency in their community cannot miss this opportunity to network with other resiliency professionals, learn about the tools available for planning, and meet other organizations who are also working on their own path to resiliency.

They have a comprehensive line-up of plenary speakers who are going to cover Federal, State, and Business Perspectives on Resiliency; the Role of States in Supporting Local Resiliency; Equity as a Guiding Force in Resiliency; and the Science of Climate Adaptation. Breakout sessions and workshops will further address Infrastructure Adaptation; Rural and Urban Resiliency; and Resilient Economics.

Showcase the Green Jobs Forum and Career Fair

Resilient Virginia is a non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating resiliency planning in communities across the Commonwealth. This year they are hosting their 4th Resilient Virginia Conference: From Recovery to Resilience – Moving to Vibrant, Healthy and Equitable Communities, August 25-27th.

This year they are partnering with Leaders in Energy to host a Green Jobs Forum and Career Fair. This is a unique opportunity to showcase examples of green jobs and the companies who are hiring in this area to students who are or will soon be looking for jobs.

The Green Jobs Forum will cover the Green Job Economy Overview; LE Green Job Career Programs and Success Stories; and Skills and Experience Needed for the Green Economy. You can see the full agenda here.

University students and alumni will benefit from the materials and information received as well as the opportunity to connect with a variety of knowledgeable leaders in the area of resiliency. Students interested in inclusive resiliency and sustainable culture will be able to learn about current strategies at the national and local levels, and what challenges are left to tackle.

The Green Career Fair will allow job seekers to directly meet with prospective employers and submit resumes to the potential employers participating in the Career Fair. In addition, the Green Jobs Forum will feature information on the growing numbers of opportunities and will highlight successful Green Job search efforts.
